I am guessing a Linux USB Stick

Any tool/type that is best for a secure erase?

The buyer already knows I am not providing an OS.
 
I do a 4 pass badblocks (data destructive test) on every drive I get in or out. Although if you don't understand linux dban is probably your best bet.
