Windows 10 users will no longer have to visit the Apple site for iTunes, as the program can now be downloaded directly from the Microsoft Store. There are reportedly no differences between this and the classic desktop version, aside from the fact that it is compatible with Windows 10 S.

iTunes for Windows was available only as a standalone download. Bringing the software to the Microsoft Store guarantees compatibility with Windows 10 S devices. Aimed at the educational market and users who put a premium on security, Windows 10 S hardware runs a stripped-down version of Windows that can only run software downloaded through the Microsoft Store.

I haven't used iTunes since 2010 or so. Never will again. I'll never buy anything from Apple again. I had an iPod Mini and an iPod Touch, both sold off long ago. Both were just fine, but iTunes on Windows made me hate Apple like poison.

I sure wish the Zune had done better.

Just recently uninstalled it from the only pc I had it on. Near daily updates were out of control. The amount of crap it also had installed was insane. Took me better part of a half hour to remove it all and I've got doubts there's not something still there.

If it eliminates all of the excessive services that the win32 installer dumps (ex: Bonjour), I'll go with this version instead.
