For sale is my Quantum Data 801GG Pattern Generator. Those of you who are still diehard CRT fans will know what this is. It's a high-bandwidth signal generator that happens to be compatible with WinDAS. Simply connect a serial cable to a computer running WinDAS, configure WinDAS (you tell it which COM port the generator is using), select the 801 option and away you go! :)

I've had it for the last few years, and WinDAS compatibility was the reason I bought it. I used to calibrate many displays, including the venerable FW-900. Sadly, I'm going to be moving to a new house so most of my CRT stuff is going to have to go.

Pictures will be coming shortly, but as far as I can figure, everything works correctly on it. I say this because the generator has multiple outputs (Sun, Mac, GPID) that I cannot test because I don't have equipment that interfaces with it. But the RGBHV BNC connectors and VGA connector works just fine (which is all you really care about anyways), and of course - the serial interface (for WinDAS functionality) works fine.

Cosmetically it's in decent shape, with a couple of dings here and there - nothing serious. The LCD screen has a crack and a "splotch" on it, but it's pretty small and doesn't adversely affect readability. All in all, it's a tank of a machine, and while I hate to get rid of it, I'm downsizing my entire setup so it has to go.

I would like to get $150 shipped for it, but I'm open to offers as well. For full WinDAS compatibility you will need a serial cable and possibly a serial-to-usb interface, neither of which are included.

Thanks for reading and God bless.

WOW ! A holy grail from a (almost) forgotten age.

I remember wanting this in the CRT epoch.
