Just when you thought you were safe from everything else killing you (not not really), Democracy Dies in Darkness lets us know that the Journal of the American College of Cardiology says that loud sounds are contributing to heart disease as well. I guess all those years in the pit are surely going to take its toll. I am personally blaming Al Jourgensen.
I say turn it up and knock off a few years so that your loved ones will have to spend less money on you in a nursing home.
“Noise can be considered a cardiovascular risk factor,” he said. “Importantly, this is a risk factor that cannot be managed by patients or by doctors; it just can be managed by politicians by making laws with low thresholds for decibel levels during the day and during the night to protect the people living very close to noise sources.”
