Circuit City to Relaunch Feb. 15

hoped CC learned their lesson from the last time they went bankrupt. HHgregg wasn't any better either.

the only time i go into BAD BUY is to test out a product before i buy it on amazon :D

This is what I use to do until BB finally started matching Amazon prices (if sold/shipped by Amazon). I have noticed my Amazon shopping has decreased quite a bit in terms of electronics when Best Buy finally go their collective heads out their behinds in terms of price matching. There are a few things I still go to Amazon for (aka: if Best Buy takes more than 2 days to get to a store for pickup).

It will never work, tigerdirect went that route, Service Merchandise went online only years ago, and I don't even know what CompUSA website is about

Also, Circuit City usually had the worst real-estate choices for their stores, which hurt them as opposed to Best Buy, whose storefront choices tended to work better as far as convenience goes. My store was hidden in this corner right off the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks, CA. One entrance/exit, and if you didn't know it was there already, you probably never noticed it. We still did pretty well in spite of the location. Reagan's funeral procession was one of our busiest days ever... without sales.

Funny that you mention CC's physical locations, as the one we had in Mobile, AL was the other anchor for the largest non-mall shopping center in the city, and oddly enough was pretty easy to get to, despite the traffic at the nearby intersection. I think the main thing people didn't like about CC was the layout, the store was relatively small, somewhat dark and with all those turns and angled walkways. When there were sales going on, it was almost impossible to get through the store.

Best Buy opened up in the other "mall" a few blocks away, which had far worse traffic, but it had a layout similar to a small Walmart. The prices sucked really hard for a while, but at least you could breathe in there, and it seem as dark.

I remember buying my EVGA FX 5200 from there, was such an amazing upgrade from my MX420. Later bought an EVGA 7600GT AGP, only to need to swap it for a PCI-E 7600GS with a bit of credit.

Yeah, which is why I said usually. There was another one in the San Fernando Valley (I think, it's been so long) that had a good, open layout and was easy to get to, but that was too far for me to ever drive just to browse the larger music/movie selection. Can't remember if it was Daly City or somewhere else close by South SF, but that Circuit City only had one way in and out (in the back end corner of the shopping center and contending with other stores' traffic), but had a better layout than some of the tinier layouts (mine was such one). Comparatively the nearby Best Buy, of course, had a better location.

Anyway, I'm curious as to the newer online presence, as I guess this won't be just a CarbonCopy/extension of the SystemMax storefront?

SING IT WITH ME EVERYONE!

Welcome to Circuit City, where service is state of the art.
