Thanks

How long does it take to ship those if i order now?

If you order from Massdrop it takes a couple of months to ship. It will tell you when they expect to ship after you place the order.

Massdrop has started essentially rolling drops, and the JBL's are one of them.

Also, those Mackie's are more expensive; $119 per unit, so $238 per pair, versus $179 per pair for the JBL's, for the 5" versions. The 6" versions that were linked are significantly more expensive.

And they may be worth it! I have no idea, I just know that the JBL's rock the house :D

Been reading a lot about the jbl lsr305 an im leaning towards that. I may buy it locally as i need a speaker soon. Few months is a long wait. Lol!

What 6” version are you referring to?

Please look at the snipped image I posted again- it ships almost immediately, this specific drop happens every day!

The Mackie 624's in the video linked above. They may very well be nicer, but they're also more expensive than the JBL's, if that matters.

Don't do that! LSR305s are on most of the pro-music sites - BH, Guitar Center, Sweetwater, etc. - for $99/each.

You should invest into good speakers first, then look for accessories like DACs. The LSR305's are great in near field but nothing impressive in regular listening distances. And their small size is a disadvantage in bass extension.

This isn't really a recommendation, but I've been impressed with what monoprice has been doing for the budget minded.

These are their semi new 6.5 inch coaxial "studio monitors". ($250/pair)

I own their 5 inch studio monitors and they do great for the price ($130 incl shipping when on sale)

They are a bit of a curiosity to me. I hope Z reviews gets a pair because I'd be curious if they are as unique as they look.

Also if you have a half decent speaker amp, monoprice also has a really cheap 6.25 inch pair of speakers for $30 which kinda blows my mind a bit. Link (only 1 user review as of yet, but at that price...worse case they'd make good speakers for the bathroom haha)

Don't go for 'cheap 6.5" speaker' trap. Most OEM speakers that look like that are manufactured at an average cost of 4 dollars a speaker. They're utter crap.

That biamped coax speaker is a bit more interesting. Although it costs more than LSR305 on discount, it might work better in far field due to the coax design.
