The high-end NVIDIA Titan Xp graphics card now comes in two Star Wars-themed versions: a Jedi Order GPU representing the Light Side, and a Galactic Empire version for the Dark Side. The former lights up in green, while the latter model is red. These will be available in mid-November for $1,200.

The Jedi Order GPU simulates the wear and tear and battle-worn finish of many items used by the Rebel Alliance, resulting from its diecast aluminum cover being subjected to an extensive, corrosive salt spray. Conversely, the Galactic Empire GPU's finish features simple, clean lines, emulating the high-end, orderly nature of the resource-rich Empire.

They look pretty cool and all but it seems odd to release them this late in the GPU's life cycle when Volta might be coming out fairly soon. I guess these are for Star Wars collectors.

So you cant even see the special Star Wars-ness unless you use a 90 degree PCIe adaptor. For that kinda money you could just get your case window etched or something.

The "value" from these Titan card is because they are usually pretty early when a new GPU line is released and will not be beat for a while.
Paying Titan money this late in the cycle seems insane to me.

Now for Nvidia to give one away in a legit sweepstakes. (not one requiring the purchase of an ansel game for screenshots or a charity PC with a boat anchor $11,000.00 case attached)

This seems like a marketing effort to squeeze some extra cash out of gamers right before the new architecture launches. I sincerely hope this flops. It certainly deserves to.

I wonder if the display case has a power plug for the LED lighting..

The Rebel one actually looks like a lightsaber from the side. Wonder when they will release specs on Them?

I'd prefer a R2-D2 themed GPU, especially if it came with software that allowed it to beep and boop R2-D2 sounds at you depending on your current PC activity.

More than any of us will ever make in our lives.

It's not about the license or monies. Intel and AMD are in the news for their collaboration to kill Nvidia in the midrange mobile market. Nvidia combats this with Star Wars branded TXP cards, YAY?

they couldn't be bothered to put some cool custom Star Wars images on the cards?...Kylo Ren holding his crossguard lightsaber, Rey, Captain Phasma, old man Luke?

Its always about Monies. Always. Don't be naive.

What kind of PR have you been reading? And from what dimension :p

All 3 companies managed to announce utter crap.

Yeah pretty lame. Yay, green or Red LED lights! Whoopie!

A Captain Phasma themed card would look awesome. Lets mod it! :jimlad:

Naive? WTF? Where is the gain for this? Is this a hot selling product? The msrp has not gone up has it? Whatever its cost to Nvidia if much at all doesn't mean jack to the consumer as its price has not changed.

Wouldn't buy it because at this point the next cycle of titan is due in the next few months.....just over prices because its star wars themed. You could probably customize a titan to look like this for much cheaper.

U-G-H. This feels as bad as the Totino's tie-in crap with the Shadow of War codes.
