Anyone ever get bored of their case?

I got bored tonight and adjusted the hole area, removed the backer mesh and stuck a micro filter on the front.

I'm actually getting bored of my 900D but the main reason I'm changing is because I'm getting sick of the size. I've had to move several times with this case and it's huge, heavy, and can hardly fit anywhere. I'm actually down sizing to the new Thermaltake View 71 with a 420 and 360mm radiator in push pull.

13-14 years later... nope lol.
Has everything I can get on a modern case, didn't cost 500 bucks and people think it's an aircon unit so it probably will never get stolen.
Dual PSUs, more drive/bay space than I can ever need, removable tray, fits 180mm sleeve bearing fans inside (maybe one day will mod it so they can mount properly).. what more do I need?

This case on the other hand.. yes got sick of it quite quickly lmao. Sanace at 12V (before discovering 7V mods) was louder than a FX5800..

holy crap.... That thing is terrifying... And absolutely worth a few food stamps....
Hahaha it was horrific indeed! Buddy of mine and myself made it as our first proper collaborative gaming rig. Old blunt drill bit, hacksaw, pliers, then ended up with a piece of that IBM case in my hand for over a decade, until going in for surgery on a tendon, got them to take it out at the same time lol.

Was an AT case bodged to fit ATX with an ALi chipset A7A 266, Duron 750 @ 925, TNT2 and 256mb? of cheap ass Kingston ram lol. The joys of being 14 and building a PC from used + scavenged parts..
Played HL engine stuff fine though and that was all that mattered.
The glorious days when steam wasn't a thing and WON was king.

Yep I always switch cases. Recently built a new Ryzen rig, and of course I had to get a new case with it. I ended up with the Be Quiet Dark Base Pro.

My CPU TIM decided to go and I had to order some new TIM. Since I've been meaning to swap out my case anyway (NZXT Guardian) I have a new case incoming (in sig) and a new waterblock for my CPU. At least the labor to re-install the TIM isn't wasted effort now. :)

Since I'm not going to do SLI anymore, I kinda wanna go back to a mid size tower. Would take up less space on my desk.

Yup. I rotate between 3 ITX cases (NZXT Manta, Ncase M1, InWin 901), switching between them every couple of months. Most recently went from the 901 to the Manta :D.

I have a Corsair 800D, and I like the minimalistic look. That said, I have always wanted one of those square cases but haven't built a second system to take advantage of them..

Anyone here move all their existing components to another case?

This is H. Yes. Yes we have.

Just finished swapping from a mid tower to an Silverstone SG11 SFF case for a friend.

Usually but, I recently picked up a Lian Li A04B off ebay. Pulled the drive bays (3.5"), put in some good fans, and modded my PSU a little bit cosmetically (had to remove sleeving because of limited space behind the tray).

I'm pretty content for now.

Only bad thing about swapping cases frequently is that you really can't sell off the old cases online if you live somewhere rural. It cost an arm and a leg to ship them. I usually end up with 3-4 cases in my attic, and end up giving them to friends just to clear up space. I recently gave away a Cosmos 2, and a Corsair 750D, that was 500 dollars down the drain.

Pfffft. Buy an off lease enterprise workstation (2500 or 2600) for $200, toss it in the old case, sell it for $400+shipping.

one of the first people in the US public to get this case! excited for it to get here!! There is nothing wrong with my Mitx prodigy, im just bored of it.

I'm waiting for the Quadstellar to come out the end of this year, that is the only case I might change to. Although it's limited on air cooling which I prefer.

Very board, just very lazy...thought about making a couple different cases. probably will just do nothing. I really should post pictures of it, cause it was an amazing(ly cheap) case 15 years ago.

They need to make cases more functional and cleaver adding headphone holders and tempered glass doors instead of screw mounts like the new cosmos coolermaster case that weighs 50lbs :p

I figured the best part about the case is viewing the internals so I finally ordered that Bitfenix shogun case I hope I don't have any problems building inside it.
Someone said it's a awesome looking case in person someone said on you tube which was the reason I pulled the trigger on it finally.
I'll build in in during my vacation I really like aspects of the case mainly it's tempered glass and metal along with the GPU holders on the right side I'll make use of those.
Plus it has plenty of Drive bays to keep me happy.

I'm gonna put a little thought I've had.

I like mATX... mATX cases are not nearly as popular unfortunately. What I want (FRACTAL ARE YOU LISTENING?), take the Define R5, shrink it to mATX standards (changing things only necessary to meet the dimensions), keeping the same "layout" and "cable management" and offer either a solid side panel or a tempered glass side panel.... NO RGB.

I'm wondering what you guys do with your old ones?? I've had mine more than 15 years and everytime I think of replacing it, I also think of what I'm going to do with the old one...

IF you really need to get rid of it Good Will takes them broken or used. I will never part with my Raidmax Alien case from 2002 though just love it to death.

Just got the Bitfenix shogun in the mail I don't think anyone was more hyped up about this case than me on the internet. This thing is so tall and wide it's like a full
tower it's about 10" wide which is as wide as I want to go. Looks really nice it will take a good few years to get sick of it. The tempered glass is tinted slightly dark but if it mutes to Geforce logo on my graphics card more power to it. Going to build into it on my vacation the selling points were the GPU holders inside the tempered glass and all of the Drives bays plus the front looks really cool and I can finally use a full size watercooler if I want I might try that still a little scared about water cooling anything. The fact they have extra room for basically any size water cooler on top width wise not just length. Like the Phanteks cases have water cooler mounts but the problem is they hand down cover the motherboards even by inches which I just think is pretty lame.

If I can see the sides of my Crucial Ballsitick sports ram in this case I'll be happy with it. Plus I hope the damn power button works :p Always scared of that :p

The problem with my coolermaster enforcer I was limited by GPU size and SSD mounts at the same time plus I could only use a 120mm watercooler stock unless I mod the shit out of it which I'm no good at. Plus I owned it since 2011 or so I'm kinda getting sick of it mainly the Window is too small on the side which covers all the HDD cages just to make it look clean.

How tall is that tower cases of yours?

I also like the corsair air 740 but the drives would get hot with no air flow in that cube design that put me off also an old retro handle on the side case and it's all plastic only a metal frame with one dust fitter in the front, cost £130.00 GBP not worth the money should be cheaper IMO, so not to moan about it I got the Thermaltake Tower 900 with all metal and with three tempered glass windows the only part that is plastic is the top but it not cheap and thin like corsair case it was only £71.00 more then the corsair air 740 the tower 900 is worth the money you pay.

I upgrade from an old Thermaltake overseer case

Nope. Karma, I'd like think, got me what I have now. And I'm able to keep my 77 year old mother up and running on a 2009 AIO HP.
