Hey guys, was looking at building a x58 gaming rig with a spare Xeon x5660 + GTX 960 4gb I had lying around for my brother in law... however after checking second hand prices for weeks, I have come to the decision its stupid to fork out for an x58 when i can get a x99 board for almost the same price, so looks like Ill be upgrading my PC and he'll be getting my x58 :)

Ill be using it for gaming. I currently have a Gainward Phoenix GTX 1070 which will be getting sent over to the new x99 mobo. CPU I haven't decided on yet - any input here is also welcome. I will be OC'ing it, will be cooled with a Coolmaster 612, ram ill be grabbing 2x8gb Gskill sticks. A 480gb sata SSD will be my main boot/game drive then have about 3-4 other sata HDD (don't need them all so this number may change)

My main question is, which board do you guys think is the best choice.
Here are the contenders that are available for a decent price to me at the moment (all in Australian dollars which is about 0.75 to the USD and include any shipping)

(used) Gigabyte GA-X99-SOC Force - $195~

(used) Gigabyte GA-X99-SLI - $210~

(new) Asus X99-E - $199

(used) Asus x99 deluxe I = $240

Im not particularly interested in the deluxe I but welcome to input on all of them.

If you go X99 and don't want to go crazy then the 5820K chip is probably the best value and most widely available used.

Xeons might still be a bit pricey on X99.
