Setting VPN on single band - RT-AC68U

Hello,

I have AC68U set using both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. Now I wanted only 1 of those 2 bands to use VPN (either band is fine). For example, I want all the devices connected to 2.4ghz band to run through VPN, and all devices connected to 5ghz to run without VPN (just an example - it doesn't matter whether 2.4ghz band runs through vpn or 5ghz band).

Is that possible? I currently have Asus firmware but I don't mind switching to DD-WRT or whatever else as long as it is stable firmware.

Not possible with the built-in firmware. You would need to isolate them as different networks. But the 2.4 to 5.0 distinction is just the wireless band you are using.

I guess another possibility is creating another separate network and running that network through vpn.. I don't know if it can be done on same router though..

What about with dd-wrt? Do you know if it's possible with dd-wrt?

It should be possible with DD-WRT because you can create VLANs and configure routing on the device.
