Hi there I have been using PC for a very long time see attached pic, it runs slower than a snail and I think it’s time for a change now!

I have just seen Intel i9-7980xe extreme edition but I want to know is what mother board and Ram are compatible with this? And also what would be a good Graphic card and 4K LCD 29” for me to get?

Plus I am not a Mac user I only use PC, I want to make a powerful system as I use a lot of different types of software’s and games in my PC the main heavy 5 software’s are:

Cubase 9, Wavelab 9, Adobe photoshop CS6 & premier pro CS6 and game FSX so that’s why I need a very good processor, motherboard and Ram. So please I would like your suggestions on what would be best for me? Money is no issue as I know this will be a long term investment for me and I want to get the best!

so are you asking for someone to config a system for you? have you not done any research yourself? if money's no object just go build the highest end system you can find with a 1080ti.

There is a a listing on this forum for a aorus 1080 ti that someone is selling for 660. I have that same same card and payed 720 and I'm sure video card prices are going to go up with all this mining going on

As far as CPU and ram it's hard for me not to recommend 1700x / 16gb 3200 gskill trident ram. I have 32gb of the 3200 rgb trident and I love it

I really like my crosshair 6 board but it is on the pricy side the asus x370 pro, asrock taichi, gigabyte gaming 5 are great boards as well

Hi guys I have done some research and I have seen, but as I haven’t been looking in to this for long that’s why I wanted to get your opinion on what’s good!

My main reason to discuss this on the forum is to find out which is the best hardware to make an extreme gamming PC! Thanks.

given that X299 boards haven't physically launched yet it is hard for us to make you a recommendation. that being said, it looks like you are going for something expensive and top of the line, so I imagine a Rampage VI Extreme and 128GB of Dominator Platinums will do you well.
RX Vega is unlikely to be much faster than the 1080Ti, and will draw much more power; however, the Vega FE seems to have some support for workstation apps such as Solidworks, so it is a no-brainer if you use those.

it's also hard to not recommend a Quadro or a Titan Xp given you are looking at the XE processor; conversely, if you are looking at buying a 1080Ti to save costs I would strongly recommend not buying the Extreme Edition; that extra thousand dollars is likely better spent on NVMe SSD's, a second GPU, or more monitors. I can guarantee you that none of the apps you are using right now will scale to 18 cores; CS6 is notorious for not scaling past six cores and games will almost certainly perform worse on the HCC parts due to reduced overclocking headroom.

Maybe a 7900X tops and a Quadro card. Also you dont need a 1200W PSU either.

Instead of a gaming monitor, you sure you dont want something with better colour production?

You can actually end up with negative performance with more cores on some products, and Adobe is included in that.
