i'm currently searching for a replacement for my ageing samsung 730u3e

requirements:

14" mate screen (could settle for 13") with decent colour reproduction.
quiet operation during web browsing, word and similar tasks.
6 or more hours battery runtime.
i5 kaby lake, 6 or more Gb ram.
2, or better 3 USB ports.

bloatware free windows installation and backlit keyboard would be a plus.
should be available in Europe.

Carefully reading reviews it seems a lot new laptops seems to be plagued by either noisy fans and/or coil whine.

Any recommendations that wont bug my sensitive ears ?

Budget?

But the XPS13/15 is a great choice. I heard some people complaining about coil whine and I personally cannot ear anything unless I literally slam my ear onto the keyboard (I own the newest XPS13 9360). A new Surface laptop is worth a look at as well.

I would advise personally checking out the zenbook trackpad first. Their trackpads are kind of trash. And their idea of putting a windows hello button directly onto the trackpad is beyond retarded.

I've been buying HP Elitebooks with their snazzy back lit keyboards, SSD's and multiple processor selection because the shrinks at the clinic like to have very quiet rooms while they do things like bio feedback training etc...

I picked up a kaby lake xps 13 (i7, 16gb ram, 512gb nvme, 4k touchscreen) for $1250 a ways back; I am sure they are even cheaper now. I would do it all over again today the exact same way.

after reading a lot of reviews i'm looking at two choices which could not be more different price and performance wise.

1) make a compromise regarding the display and buy a reasonably priced Acer Travelmate X349 g2 m 53u2 ( and maybe put the savings into repairing the old Samsung to use as a secondary one)

2) going all in and buy a Lenovo X1 carbon with i5. (should work well for my needs but i'm a bit hesitant due to the fact that lenovo installs display panels from different manufacturers with wildly varying performance)
