I will try this tomorrow and get back to you. Where on steam do I put in the code?
You put the cd key in where you usually put in the activation keys for steam

I tried with my CD-Key, Steam does not take, it doesn't recognise it. EDIT: I tried it both with and without "-"'s in the keys.
My blank DVD+R DL discs is arriving later on today, I will try burning the cloned image and see if that'll work.
If it doesn't, I am using No-CD hack, I have absolutely no desire to leave a fragile disc in the drive just for the DRM.
Thanks, I'll check it out later.I don't blame you one bit.
When Wolfenstein came out, I was still apprehensive about not owning physical media....
If it was still available on Steam, I'd buy it again. Sadly, that is not an option.
(be sure to consult pcgamingwiki to adjust your FOV etc)
EDIT: Honestly though, you should play Singularity instead. BUT, if you've got the "bug" to play this game, do what you've gotta do.
and this is why i hate how all multiplayer games does it the console way now. that it is using dedicated servers. cause they are going to shutdown when the money stream is not there. You can't find it digitally anywhere because of a stupid reason: the multiplayer was no longer being supported. Perfect reason to pull a primarily single player game from sale, right? RIGHT?

One of my favorite games.
I bet I played it at least 4 times start to finish.

Makes me a little sad that I can't purchase this or Prey on Steam (or seemingly anywhere). I had thought about tracking down a physical copy of Wolf 2009 but it sucks to know that it won't activate on Steam using the key.
I've tried locating a giftable, previously-purchased Steam copy of the game that someone might be willing to trade but the things are like unicorns and trust me when I tell you that people know the game isn't available anymore.
One can only hope that it pops up again one day like System Shock 2 did...never thought that would happen but I'm sure the cult demanding the return of that game was stronger than the one for what many consider the black sheep of the Wolfenstein series.

That was an awesome fucking game that I didn't play nearly enough. Was it ever sold digitally? I still have my boxed copy of the limited edition lying around.Don't forget Enemy Territory: Quake Wars if you're talking about disappearing id related games
I haven't cloned the disc. I could try that tonight. When I created a ISO it immediately barked at me with a Securom message saying it wanted the original disc and not a copy. I think it's 98% likely a cloned disc wouldn't work if a ISO didn't.

The very reasos to use other formats than iso is to beat copy protections. There are plenty of copy protected games out ther ethat would not work from an iso but from a cloneCD image or nero image because these image formats contains more information about the media.
-- edit --
i tottaky forgot we are talking dvd and not cd
DVDs and CDs are not so different when it comes to this. I had to use Alcohol 120% to beat the copyright, the software has built in settings for reading copyright material.
Strangely, the mounted image works, the burnt DVD didn't, but I could have screwed up somewhere.
This thread inspired me to get off my ass and hunt down a copy. Got a brand spanking new one still in the original shrinkwrap. Will post pics when I get home. Still trying to hunt down a copy of Prey that isn't $200, though.
Seller on Amazon has a copy of Prey listed as New for $128. Should I go for it? 92% rating over the past 12 months, though...
