Intel is developing a new mobile internet device with a Linux based OS. An announcement is expected to be made at this week’s Intel Developer Forum in Beijing.

MID tablets will run a simplified "finger-friendly" user interface optimized for the small screens, based on the Gnome desktop but with an Intel-developed "master user interface" layer to serve as an equivalent to the desktop.

I am interested in this. Wish it were a phone though. Ubuntu phone and Firefox phone both kind of failed sadly.
