So i picked up a corsair carbide air 540 case and prepping for a new water cooled build. I've been water cooling for a long while, but have never used bay res/pumps before. Aside from filling the loop during maintenance being a bit more of a PITA. What other things should i consider by going with a bay res, and who makes really good ones for that matter? I'm also looking for one that is setup well enough for me to add drainage.

The best way to do drainage is to splice in a T somewhere near the bottom of your loop.

I like Alphacool and Aquacomputer. XSPC makes some simple but very functional ones. I would not touch the Koolance RP-452x2, it is a nightmare to bleed. Bitspower is also probably good. I think the best thing to do is go on Performance-PCs and choose the one that fits your aesthetic taste.

I have the repack as well and would not recommend it due to the fill port. Not only is it difficult to fill, it is also nearly impossible to fill completely. I have the dual D5 version, and if it is not at least halfway up the fillport level, it will suck air into the pumps.

I've been using this XSPC unit for a few years now. Never had an issue.

Oh, I forgot to add, the Repack fillport seal does not work well, and will leak water. That makes it impossible to fill completely when the case is level.
