could have been a little nicer about it lol.If you buy 2560x1080 @ 34" 21:9 you'll just hate yourself when you're trying to sell it next week; no one will buy that shit-show when you're wishing you'd bought a proper 3440x1440 34" 21:9 or a 40" 4K TV.
Literally no one should ever buy this display size/resolution/aspect ratio. Ever.
If you can't afford full res 21:9 34" or 40" 4K, get a 32" 2K display (HP Omen).
You're welcome.

but i agree with his statement
here is the customer base.
Someone who has a 27" 1080p now and has a 970 level graphics card. The PPI is about the same between that and the 27". So they aren't losing anything and are gaining width. They don't have to upgrade their video card to keep 60fps and high settings.
1080p content (of which their is a lot) isn't stretched, rescaled, or resized if you don't want it to be. (Just black bars on left and right)

Yeah, that's terrible pixel density, I got rid of my 27 inch 2560x1440 144hz Pixio px277 because the BLB was so bad. Also an invisible line down the middle of screen kept popping up. I'm currently waiting for the HP Omen 32 inch 2560x1440 which is the same ppi as a 24 inch 1080p monitor. I'm hoping VA removed BLB, contrast ratio provided a nicer picture. It's only 75hz, but I'll take image quality over the garbage BLB on a 144hz screen. Build quality and picture come first for me always.

After reading this I'm questioning myself and my 49" IPS 4K Microboard32" 2560 x 1440p is the cats fucking roar and the perfect size for high productivity. I could never go back.
Anything bigger and you find yourself rearranging dialog boxes and shit all the time so you can read them without unscrewing your head.
