Apple's Jony Ive says he has created an all-enveloping magical experience for Claridge's Christmas Tree 2016. True to form, Ive took normal every day trees, the same you would find in your back yard, called them "magical" and everyone loves it. If you think I'm kidding, just look at the picture.
 
The they are apparently using lightboxes to create the backdrops and add more depth the to displays. So, it may look more impressive in person than the pictures. That said, nice, but nothing I haven't seen done before.
 
I see trees. Not a single Christmas tree in sight. Plenty of plain ol' trees though. You know they are probably pissed but since its Sir Jony Ives they are just going along with the "magical" bullshit. :D
 
meh. How about go outside and look at some real trees????

It was pretty courageous to get rid of the decorations. Nobody really used them anyway.

I can't wait for the $400 picture book about this magical tree installation, just in time for the holidays!
 
If Jony was talking while we were watching, we would be amazed and mesmerized. Next years models will not even have branches.
