I guess you never really think about what kind of insurance SpaceX has until something like this happens. What kind of policy do you need for "blew up on launch pad?" I'd just offer the free flight.

Israel's Space Communication Ltd said on Sunday it could seek $50 million or a free flight from Elon Musk's SpaceX after a Spacecom communications satellite was destroyed last week by an explosion at SpaceX's Florida launch site. Officials of the Israeli company said in a conference call with reporters Sunday that Spacecom also could collect $205 million from Israel Aerospace Industries, which built the AMOS-6 satellite.

hell, sending somebody into space would be good for publicity, anyway. seems like that'd be win:win. unless he blows up on the ground, too, then things could get bad pretty fast.

Free flight means the next satellite, not the executive from Spacecom.

Isn't this the same satellite that was being tested for launch, and the client requested SpaceX install the satellite for the testing which SpaceX said was not normal?
