DayZ Standalone

So whatever happen to dayz standalone?

Why hasnt a mob of angry steam customers made gabe refund money and punch the devs in the face?

I know preorder was pre alpha but that was two+ years ago and I think its gotten all of 500 mb of updates in those years.

Last I checked they took the zombies out.

DayZ SA feels like the biggest scam in the world. Maybe they should stop selling Arma games on steam till DayZ is done.

Nah, Daybreak games is the biggest scammer in the world. They took H1Z1 and turned it into 2 games to double their profit. lol

I kind of see why they did that.

Battle Royale was so popular on its own and they wanted to make changes that would break the original game. They also notified everyone that it was coming and put the game on sale. If you were into that game and didnt take advantage well I dont know what to say. The original game is also broken in its own right.

The biggest scammer is Warz, I mean Infestation: Survivor Stories, I mean whatever the fuck they call it now. (Romeros zombies or some shit like that)

I find you statements to be incorrect. There has been more than 500mb of updates to the game. They still dont have perfect zombies which is the only part you got right. They did get the new renderer which has made my FPS go from crap to very good. They also have put a lot of stuff in since its release. I do think its a scam like other games. It may be in early access for two years but they are still working on it, it has not been abandoned. If you dont like the current state then check back in a year.

DayZ never stopped getting updated. It's being worked on, slowly, but still improving. (Slowly). I'm still waiting.

No and I fail to see the point. If updates stop with no news for a long time then I will be concerned. A scam I did buy was cubeworld. Bought it, one update, three years later still nothing.

Literally what zombie survival game hasn't been a "scam" in it's own right? These games literally STARTED the age of Early Access bullshit titles that never come to fruition. Would be cool if one could ACTUALLY work out, but they'll always be short term cash grabs that are full of aimbotting wallhackers.

So my original post was looking for information as the current status of the game and perhaps insight as to why its taking so long. I poked fun at the game and you attacked me.

technically still making progress?
Go check again.
See how many servers are up. Over a 1000 a day.
How many players are online average a day, week.
See how many streamers make a living off the game.
How many people have over a 1000 youtube videos.

I just checked and Dayz is in the top 50 steam played games.
I quit counting at over 8000 games played on steam everyday.
50. DayZ Current players - 4,128 Peak players today -17,818 Total - 5,922,810
How you can think I am talking about another game blows my mind.

I played the ARMA 2 DayZ mod a lot, 3 years ago before the release of ARMA 3 killed it.

In ARMA 2 DayZ, you pretty much had to be playing with a group communicating on Teamspeak.

The typical scenario would be searching for loot in a small town. You don't think anyone else is there. Then, you hear zombies running. You think they're coming at you, then, you see another guy running from them who hasn't seen you yet. You ask your boys on teamspeak if that's them. Nobody knows wtf you're talking about. So you setup an ambush. You gun the guy down, and start looting his gear. Then, you hear the echo of a Huey helicopter in the distance. You're not sure if they are coming for you, so you continue looting his body. Then, you hear a black Escalade coming into the town. Soon, you realize they've been searching for you all along. You shit your pants and get ready to defend yourself. That guy you just killed is on teamspeak with his buddies, too! You are out gunned and you alert your guys on teamspeak that you need backup immediately. Then an hour long shootout happens in that city. You and the other group exchange and trade lives with each other. When one side wins, they loot as much as they can, blow up any remaining cars that they can't take along with their gear in it. Then you make the get away so you come out on top in the end. Its 3AM and you have work in less than 5 hours. You make it to the debug plain and hide your shit in a tent for tomorrow's battle.

That shit was so fun only if you had a group of at least 4 to 6 guys on teamspeak. You're going to be at a disadvantage if you're playing solo.

I tried DayZ standalone and they made it too difficult. Poisonous food pissed me off. The graphics were great, but the game wasn't the same experience as ARMA 2 DayZ. ARMA3 was all good graphics and sound, but the game had a shitty design feel to it. I stopped playing ARMA 2 DayZ and Wasteland after ARMA 3 killed it.

Even if they release a good final version of DayZ Standalone, my friends and I probably won't play it anymore at this point.

I was so excited when they released EA of DayZ SA in December 2013. I immediately bought it. Shit, there wasn't much to do but it was still exciting. Days SA has turned into junk. It's been 2 and a half years now. Who the fuck want to play a zombie game without zombies? They just increased the size of the world and added a bunch of new cities and items. But the servers support only what, 50-60 players (last time I checked)? How do you meet someone in such a huge world? And why would you even want to meet anyone? They will probably only want to shoot you anyway. So you spawn, gather some gear, then roam the empty world. Eventually you get ambushed and killed, or you sit in the forest above Cherno or Elektro and snipe people who rarely show up. What a joke and a huge waste of time.

Honestly Arma II mod was so much more fun and feature complete 3+ years ago. Rocket, the creator of DayZ left the development of SA a while ago. They tried to bite more than they can chew and the game is dead for me.
Right now one can get a lot more fun from Breaking Point, which is DayZ mod for Arma III.

Just updated the renderer and it's running fantastic on both my pcs and laptop. Games been getting updates but it has been slow. Still they're coming and i still actively play.

Yeah, I don't think the company "owes" anyone regarding how long it takes to develop. They are still applying updates to it. If they ever stop updating it then I would understand if people got upset.

DayZ is definitely slow progress but I have one EA game called Kenshi and bought it before it was even on Steam from gamersgate and it took five years of development before it even got audio.
