Gigabyte GTX 1070 399.99

Nice - looks like non-reference prices are finally normalizing; even if it's via eBay sale haha.

Is there any big reason to avoid this card if I'm just looking for a decent non FE 1070?

Well at least they're getting close to a decent price. Amazon is still bat shit with their 1070 and 1080 pricing.

I just picked up 2 1080 strix at 650 caps a pop from Amazon. Don't buy from Amazon sellers. Amazon own pricing is fine.

Selling like hot cakes. I got my Zotac 1080 Amp! from newegg 2 days ago for $670... The price is already at $639 on Amazon.. Can always use price match from credit card company to get a refund on price difference.

My brother got one early this morning, and he's pretty thrilled. He's coming from a 7870xt, so it's going to be a monster upgrade for him. $399 for one of the nicer 1070s is not bad at all. It's an authorized seller too, so you still get the warranty. The lack of having to pay tax (most places) is icing on the cake.

It looks like stock is finally catching. There is a lot of 1070 stock on my tracker, and some good choices on the 1080.

Maybe I can be prepared to sidegrade upgrade to a 1070 from a 980ti come Black Friday or something. Here's to hoping that this card will shape up to be the next 970 without the 3.5GB gate this time around.

That's a downgrade when you factor in overclocked performance between the two.

when it comes to gtx 1070 get any aftermarket card the cheapest one. I got the cheapest available at the time. EVGA 1070 SC for 439.99 and I don't regret it a bit. It is one hell of a cooler, quiet and keeps the card low on temps and even quiet at 60% fan speed. I couldn't hear anything from it.

But overclocking wise any aftermarket cooler should sustain 1950-2000 or so. There is not much performance difference after that. With boost 3.0 and how cool these cards runs it really turns in to a waste if you have one available at 399 and other at 450 as long as they are both aftermarket. I was waiting for the same one to come in stock for 399 but I didn't want to wait forever so I grabbed the evga.

Glad I got my 1070 for $399. I haven't seen it that low since I got it and prices are all over the place (it's back up to $500 now on Amazon)!
