Red Dead Redemption is backwards compatible on Xbox One

Fuck I am not paying $30. Guess I'll wait for the disc version, holy shit I am so happy it's finally coming!

Yeah I bought a few months ago when it was on sale for like $5. In the hopes it would eventually become backwards compatible.

Dang, too bad the disc version doesn't work right now, I'd have something to fill my time with instead of studying.

I think its $7.50 on the Xbox store!

I don't own a XB1, but I just hooked up my 360, updated and am installing RDR now to play through all over again. This is perhaps the single greatest video game I have ever played, and without a doubt the best from last generation. If you did not play it, treat yourself and do it now.

why oh why cant they bring this to pc?! it looks so good but I'm not getting a console just for it...

Digital Foundry did a framerate comparison, between the Xbox One and 360, and the Xbox One maintains 30 FPS far more consistently: click here

I would stop asking this question. lol. Just go on Craigslist and buy a cheap 360 and get the game, or get a Xbox One. It's seriously a great multi-use device and you might actually enjoy it. I love PC gaming as much as the majority on this forum, but it is nice to be able to sit down on a couch with a controller and play games on my big-ass tv.

re tv, see my sig.
ive got nothing against consoles ive got tonnes of old ones(snes, gen, Saturn etc) there just hasn't been enough games that I want on 360 to buy one. and I simply prefer pc now and you cannot deny that this would be a great game on a pc.

Yeah no doubt. Mostly for me because it would run better. Even on the Xbox One with a slightly more stable frame-rate it feels just slow. I guess I got used to 60fps lately only because my rig in my sig I just completed 3 weeks ago after a 6 year PC gaming hiatus. In either case I am hoping Rockstar is working on a new Red Dead game at this point. It's already been 3 years since Grand Theft Auto 5 came out so hopefully Rockstar will show us soon what they've been up to over the last 3 years.

Tempted to pick it up, but I'll wait for a 60 FPS+ version, or a sequel (@60fps+), whichever comes first.

//It'd be awesome if Scorpio removed the 30FPS lock on 360 games... but of course a proper PC port is preferred.

I have a feeling the only way we're ever going to see a 60fps version of the first RDR is to turn on Smoothmotion/Interpolation and hope that the frametime isn't jacked up.

So do the expansions work if purchased separately or do I need game of the year edition?
