Blue line across my monitor, why? (HP Pavilion 27xi)

So for a while now, this blue line has been popping on my monitor like it comes and goes. Sometimes it wont appear for days. First I made sure it wasnt the connections so I properly plugged the hdmi cable. Then I switch hdmi cable. Then I made sure it wasn't the connection the video card end. It seems its the connection on the monitor itself like there is a bad connection, because if I move the screen slightly back and forth it goes away. So, does this mean my monitor is slowly dying?

Have you degaussed recently? I would suggest that.

Try pushing at the top or bottom of the screen on the line.. like right at the bevel and see if that tweaks anything.
 
I had the same thing to 2 of my monitors that were also HP's. only difference is my line(s) didn't come and go and after a while a second and third line appeared. I ended up just tossing the monitors.
 
If the lines come and go, try a different video card. If the lines happen on a different system using a different cable, then it's the monitor.

how long after the line first started appearing until it became permanen?
 
Can you distinguish a pattern, whereupon there's no line when the monitor was turned off for a long time and it only begins to appear after the first 10 minutes or so?

I think its just randomly, sometimes very soon after turning on the monitor, sometimes after a while.
Moving the monitor a bit back and forth solves the issue, but I wonder how long until it fails me
 
Hopefully it's just the graphics board to panel connector getting loose. Or the power supply board - graphics board connector.
You could try prying the bezel open and have a look see.
Sorry I know it's vague.
 
When I first saw the line it was permanent for me, after about a month a second line showed up. I actually had this happen to me on 2 24" hp monitors just after they ran out of warranty.
