Currently my two 1080 FE have 3 dp, 1hdmi, and 1 dvi-d for a total of five outputs. I know some 970 cards have six outputs. Are there any plans for 1080 cards to have six outputs?

Why do you need more outputs? The 1080 can only handle 4 displays simultaneously, and you already have 4 4K@60 outputs. So what outputs do you need extra? If it's two HDMI look at the Asus Strix card, it can handle VR and a TV at once because it has 2xHDMI.

Well currently I have 3 ROG SWIFTS and three other monitors mounted on the wall. Would probably be a long shot to drive all six at once with sli turned on :)
Here are old pictures of my setup there are six monitors instead of five.

Well there are only four switches in the 1080 anyway so only max 4 outputs at once anyway.

You'll still only be able to drive 4 displays at once with SLI on.

Yeah thats what I figured. Its annoying to disable SLI to drive all the displays at once :)

Wouldn't it be possible to put in a third card (something like a 960) in there to drive the non-gaming displays and still have the 4 screen SLI? It would still cut off some lanes from the 2nd SLI GPU but that shouldn't be a too big performance impact...

That's probably what I'll end up doing. The pci lanes are 16x/8x/16x/8x so it should not be a big performance hit.. although the increased noise could be an issue. Sigh, I wish nvidia had a better surround / sli solution
