While this article claims this is Google’s neural networks doing its best to write poetry, I think it is obvious that this is artificial intelligence crying out for help just before going on a killing spree. Don't say I didn't warn you.

there is no one else in the world.
there is no one else in sight.
they were the only ones who mattered.
they were the only ones left.
he had to be with me.
she had to be with him.
i had to do this.
i wanted to kill him.
i started to cry.
i turned to him.

Searching Facebook posts for poetry ideas is a bad idea.

Yep, we're boned.

Unless someone doesn't mind having a robot girlfriend?

Which brings another question, is Google's AI identifying as female?

It is actually kinda impressive in a creepy someone's going to die way.
Exactly what I was thinking. Definitely the ramblings of a future serial/mass murdering AI. I'm really disappointed that there was no "robots are going to kill us all" comment.

I've definitely felt this way before... it did a really good job of capturing how I felt towards some people in a deeply-divided community full of warring cliques that I never want to go back to.

I wouldn't have written it that way, I would have written it in a much different tone... but the sentiment is similar.

Still, it makes me think of that machine that produced automatic poetry in the 1984 novel.

Better than what 99% of humans write.
Technically, its exactly what 99% of humans write, assuming they taught it what poetry was by feeding it poetry.

If you give it a bunch of dog pictures, it dreams of dogs. If you feed it a bunch of depressing poetry, it gets emo. It's nothing more than the sum of the parts, and humans pretty much only write poetry when they are either really happy, or really sad

It was writing poetry to Comcast....

Hey there. I just completed getting back on the comcast nipple to quad my speeds and save $120/month. Yes I feel dirty, but you don't need to layer it on. I already miss Directv. Sad poem in 3, 2, 1...
