We've started a gaming club for the local kids and I want to put together a couple machines for those who don't own one capable of gaming. The local businesses have taken up a collection of about $250. I'd like to see 2 - 3 combos depending on the age and power. I think my only requests are:

CPU = Q6600 or better
Mobo = P35 or better and 4 dimm slots
RAM = 6GB or better

I have a few cards (HD5770/HD7770 and a 580 GTX) so I'm covered on the GPUs. Cases would be a bear to ship so I'll source those around south Pittsburgh, but I could use some quality older PSUs (I've got some weak OEMs that will probably do).

Thanks for any help

Will a AMD APU Combo work, or do you think that is not enough power?
Not sure what games you are gonna play

I'm in the process of upgrading the wifes rig and her old combo might be perfect for you.

CPU: I7 920
Mobo: M-ATX
RAM: 6GB

I'll check back here to see if you still need them once I get her straightened out.

I have a old Q6600 sitting at home (cpu + gigabyte mobo + not sure how much ram). I can donate it if you cover the cost of shipping. I'm pretty sure its still working but havent fired it up in ages. Let me tear it apart when I get home.

I have an older gaming PC laying around that's not being used. It's a hodgepodge of older and new hardware.
Asus P5K Mobo
CPU: QX9650 (which I believe is the fastest you could get for socket 775) with Thermaltake TRUE black 120 heatsink
Ram: 8 gigs DDR2 800
GPU: MSI 7970 OC
PSU: Corsair HX1000
HD: Samsung 850 EVO 500gb
Antec 1200 case

It's old but still capable of playing all but the very newest games at high settings.

DPOSCORP - I built an A10 - 7850k for a friend and it was just able enough to play WOT, I was impressed. That being said that chip alone runs over 100 and I'm trying to put together at least 2 maybe 3 machines hence the search for older tech. PM me if I'm not up with current pricing. Thank you.

Soulmetzger - Thank you and yes, please keep me in mind.

inglewood78 - Wow, thank you and I would obviously be more than happy to pay shipping. If you'd like to check out the center let me know and I'll shoot you a link.

Johnny78 - I fear the whole setup will be out of my price range, but maybe I can swing a partial combo. Please PM me some pricing.

Now, off to reply to PMs. Thank you all for the offers.

Just found out the bands playing the fund raiser today are not our normal fare. I thought Black Sabbath was metal but the kids tell me thats classic rock, I guess I'm getting old.

IKR? We're on the third band of nine and they've played at least a few Iron Maiden and Judas Priest tunes for me, I feel a little less like I'll Run to the Hills. Can't understand the lyrics of most everything else being played and a Saint Paddies Day party at IUP is killing our attendance.

LigTasm made me a great offer on two combos but I was too slow soooooooo......

BUMP
