I read somewhere on the net it holds for 6 hours while the Duoshock 3 worked for 60 hours on one charge. I just bring this up because I've been using cables for my two controllers one cable works the other is broken and thinking of picking up a charging station.

Charge one and use the other?

Set the light bar to dim for a few hours of extra battery life. I don't time mine, I get probably two or three gaming nights from one charge.

I use one controller for the PC the other for the PS4
think I'll skip the charger there are some good ones but guess what the Charger has cables too =)
screw that...

Just going to pick up a Dream Gear Cable off amazon.

Would like to get a X-box one controller for PC since the buttons for most games are mapped for the X-box anyway. It gets confusing when is says tap A when all you have is the Squares and Xs and Circle on the PS4 controller.

That's just a 10 foot USB cable.

I can get about 6-8 hours of solid gaming. I have the light set to dim. I do rotate between two controllers, as the battery life is not much. it can have one bar of battery life for a very long time though I have noticed.

Lol I can guarantee that you will not get 60 hours on a DS3 controller. 8 or 9 tops.

With the DS4 I average about 6-7 hours on one charge.
Not bad considering I have a few back up controllers ready to go at any time.

no one else leaves the PS4 controller plugged in all the time like me?...

I looked at cables for the past 2-3 Hours on amazon seems to be either the length of the cable is the problem or the micro usb is not sturdy enough but it's universal for phones kindles and Ps4 controllers.

Then I filtered the search from Best to Worst not sure if the reviews are biased.

I picked up this one

I avoided the cables that said it will start on fire or wreck the micro USB port...

Why always keep a wireless controller plugged in?

Exactly I looked at the battery on a PS4 controller someone took one apart on youtube it looks like a cell phone battery. While X-Box one still uses double AA batteries.

I typically got about 5-6 hours depending on the game. But they typically charge to full in under an hour so I let one charge while I use the other one. Always have one charged.

More than 10 hours here with a break or two in between. As soon as my wife leaves for work til she comes home I can play and it doesn't die. Though sometime the next day it tells us the battery is low. the light is on dim and the speaker volume is all the way down.

About 7 to 8 hours. I have the launch version which sucks ass. The newer ones have better grips and are known to hold a longer charge.

I personally haven't had good experience with battery life on my dualshock 4. I'll charge it play, a couple hours and come back a few days later I'll turn it on and it will die in an hour or so. It still happens to me with the 2000mah battery. If you're the kind of person that will keep it plugged when not in use then you should be fine.

Cable works like a god send on the PC going to try it out in Call of Duty Black Opps III see how it works never played any online PC game with a controller. People brag about it all the time so it must be good if my K/D ration goes up from being Neutral or less sometimes I'm above.

PS4 charge is definitely shorter lasting than Xbox One/ps3 controllers
But i have mine with my gaming rig setup so i always have a cable or secondary controller close at hand. Probably my only complaint with my PS4

Unless you play for 8 hours straight, you should be fine if you plug it in after you are done gaming. I play for 2-4 hours, plug the controller in and put the console in rest mode. Haven't had any issues yet.

I really wish the DS4's would last longer on a charge but it's not really a huge deal breaker. Usually have mine connected to a 6 foot cable anyway.

Even so, it's easy enough to plug it in every so often and it's great the USB's supply power when in Rest Mode.

I haven't really kept track of it but like othera said the DS4 doesn't last nearly as long as the 3. I need to get the media player remote. It's been a bit annoying a few times when I forget to charge it and try to watch a movie or something off a USB drive. I watch a ton of movies/shows through the PS4 so I need it unplugged to use it from my couch. When I game I am closer to my TV so I can leave it plugged in.

Get a longer USB cable, problem solved.
