I been getting into speakers and need some help with sound throughout the house?

Hello I have been getting better audio set up and have made a room in my basement where my computer is full surround with bass. How can I trap the sound better in the room so it won't leak out as much throughout the house? Someone told me while they were dropping a deuce upstairs they could hear their feet vibrate.
