I do not know what you're talking about, they never stated during the original crowdfunding that they were already into development and it was simply to finish and polish what they had.

Not to mention the scope of the game as they surpassed greatly what they originally planned.

Unless you think they were somehow going to build this entire game with SEVEN people , which is how many they had working on the game in October of 2012.

In Feb. of 2013 is when the Austin office was started and they had 20 developers at that time.

The video shows clearly how they developed the game and how the staff grew.

I do not know where you heard or think they said that they had the game built with just 7 people working on it BEFORE crowdfunding and all they needed was money to finish what they had...

I stand by what I said.
The original pitch wasnt even for crowdfunding as we now understand crowdfunding but for us to convince the investors he had lined up that there was enough interest to get them to finance finishing the game.
He clearly stated that what was being seen was in engine assests and that the game had been in development for a year.
I was there. I saw it with my own eyes. I read LeninGhola's post on the original Star Citizan thread within seconds of him posting it and had signed up for the announcment and had a golden ticket within minutes. Then on 10/10 I watched with rapt attention every word that came out of CR's mouth. I couldnt pull my wallet out fast enough. I literally spilled the contents of my wallet getting my credit card out.

But, really it doesnt matter. I just hate it when people justify their delusional, denial level white knighting with bullshit information.
When people RIGHTLY state the actual development time, simply acknowledge it and move on. If you werent there at the actual beginning or simple dont remember all that well, it's ok. Just dont keep repeating the misinformation that is out there.

LOL I completely missed that, Frankie. Sandi Gardiner has not been schooled in ANYTHING. She has no degrees to speak of and made it up. Repeat, she DOES NOT have a degree in International Marketing from UCLA.
 
You guys realize that every time you say this, you're calling Chris Roberts a liar, right? He has said, repeatedly, that development started in 2011.

You also cannot keep pretending that everything before 2013 doesn't count. Very few video games start production and throw 300 people on it day one.

I don't think some of you understand the difference between FULL Development and such.

Unless you think they were making this game with <7 people and expected it to get to the scale and everything, that is simply absurd and would not happen.

Once hte crowdfunding kicked off and the scope of the game grew you obviously aren't going to get there with that few people, th eentire point was to make a AAA game, those do not happen with a handful of developers anymore. Most AAA studios have 100+ people that work on a game these days.


Full production is when you have the concept and plans locked down, you know the scope of the game you are developing and have things planned out and you ramp up with all the developers/staff you need and get into full production.

The "demo" shown whent he game was first announced was something Chris and the few people he worked with made to show they knew what they were doing and were capable of making the game that he was pitching, they did not have the game bloody almost finished or anywhere near into "full development" at this point.
 
Is it true that today they announced a "News van" spaceship/gameplay/profession? And that the fueling ship, someone has to EVA to refuel someone? Like to unscrew the gas cap I guess?

Why can CIG not stop jumping the shark over and over and over again?
