JBL sale is still going.

It's probably not really a sale price, but the JBL LSR305's were 99$ each on Amazon with prime, so I picked up a pair to try them out as my computer speakers. They're really picky customers, but I'm enjoying them overall. They do have some slight hiss when you're very close to the speaker though...

I'm guessing that all of these powered speakers just have that hiss. It's one area where passive speakers are superior.

^ Try putting the gain the other way around for hiss (sounds like you have too much gain and a in-line volume control thats killing you noise-wise)

LSR305's for $99 is a killer deal--well done.

Was hoping for an automotive sub or 3. :) Not bad deals!

LSR's are the shit, i can't believe how good these guys sound for the money.

I don't care who you are, there is some awesome deals in there.

Great Receivers. Excellent car audio speakers. And some nice loudspeakers too.

No, they make the hiss without being connected to anything. In a particularly quiet room, I can kind of hear it from my sitting position, too. But the odds are pretty low that both speakers are just faulty, so I'm going to guess it has to do with my home's grounding or something.

Might be some noise in the electrical then. Do you have a UPS or something that you could use between the speaker and outlet to clean up the signal?

I have both an SUA1500 and an SUA750 UPS... the 1500 has a hell of a lot of stuff hooked up to it that I can't really unplug. I could try out the 750 at some point.

So out of the sales on there, anything that is really well-reviewed and would be a great bargain in particular? There is a lot of stuff and I'm just curious if anything on there is almost must-buy status.

Big companies make the funniest mistakes. JBL ES80, on sale for $200/speaker new. Also available as a refurb at $300.

I had a set of the jbl gto 3 way speakers in my work car with that 504ez amp. Phenomenal sounding considering the 6.5s and 6x9 sets where barely over $100 from Amazon. Got the infinity primus ones at the bottom of the refurb page and they are not as good but I got the whole set for $50 so I can't complain but eventually I'm switching it back out.

I did have an issue with Herman refurbished csrs. The first set of 6.5s came messed up and it took 2 months to get a replacement because they said they where out and wanted me to choose something else = to what I paid ($30). after a bunch of back and forth they eventually made it right. That and my brother bought a basslink that came with a loose internal connection.

Came to comment on the same thing with the ES90. At Harman Recertified website $350 each. On Harman's main website $250 each

I will say I bought a Harman Kardon Signature 2.0 preamp and amp that was refurbished direct from Harman almost 20 years ago and the thing is still going strong being used daily in a spare bedroom/gaming setup.
