Sceptre 43" 4K TV $259 + Tax, FS or Pickup

TV appears to just be launching today. Heh, cute. Stupid tempting. Thankfully, I don't think I have a spot for it.

This is very tempting. And if the quality is bad i can just return it Wal-Mart real easy.

I don't know about this specific model of TV, but I have had two Sceptre's and both would continuously turn the volume down to 0 all the time. The current 40" that I have in the bedroom I ended up having to pull the back off and unplug the cables to the volume controls on the side of the TV.

If this model does the same thing one can return it or pull it apart to disconnect the side controls.

Indeed for that price the listed contrast is very low but really you cant lose. Worst case scenario you return it and best case, you got a 43" 4K tv for peanuts! :)

i bit on 2 for the kids to hang in there rooms for x-mas, we shall see... thanks

I have been in need of a new TV for my bedroom for awhile so I bit. I would be interested on any reviews or information/opinions regarding the TV from those that plan to have it before Dec. 8th.

I had a scepter monitor, which while it worked, had the worst color palette ever.

isn't it almost guaranteed to be 30hz at 4k at that price?

It says 60 HZ 4k in the specs. It has a HDMI 2.0 connector as well.

I was going to pull the trigger, but I don't want another shit 4K tv like my Seiki.

Think i am going to sell my 50" Seiki 4K and put it towards a nice Samsung 4K or a 4K monitor.

sceptre is absolute shit. be warned.

Confirmed. Sceptre is utter junk IMHO. Why not just spend a few bucks more for Samsung, LG, Panasonic etc. I bought a 40" from Walmart last year for our bedroom. Returned both of them for terrible motion issues. Purchased a 43" Sharp from BJ's & all is well. PLEASE don't waste your money on this panel.

A few bucks more? Get real. The cheapest Samsung 4K is ~$200 more expensive.

Deal is back, and even better now, at $250.

Damn, for that price, might just have to buy one of these.

From what I've read, chroma is set at 4:2:0 on all HDMI ports, so text will look like blurry camel dick. Otherwise, I'd bite. And if just for a TV, what's the point as "real" 4K content is still a unicorn, and a 1080p 120/240hz set would provide better image quality.

Lot of people on SD claiming to be running at 4:4:4 60Hz.

guy at work ordered one and we hooked it up to my 970, text looked fine... definitely not 4:2:0 played some games at 4k and was very impressed

Good to hear! Bit. Can't really go wrong with Walmart and $250. If it sucks, I'll just take it back. Merry Chrismas to me!

I got one as well, can't be that bad, and should be better then 7 year old Samsung.

Got a 60 inch 4K LG downstairs, but for a bedroom this will be fine.

Back in the day I had a Sceptre 19" 4:3 LCD. It had a Samsung panel in it. One of the absolute best 19" monitors you could get at the time IMO.

It died probably 5 years after I bought it.

The price on this is really tempting but don't really have any need for it right now.

Well i bought one. If it was Amazon I wouldn't have, but with the return to store option i can't see the harm. If it looks like crap i can just get my money back.

It has to be better then the 50" Seiki TV that i bought. only 30hz and the colors were crap.
