Huawei's Nexus Phone Will Be The First Nexus Device To Offer Up To 128GB Of Storage

Yeah sorry, repaired phones for a side job for awhile... and iPhones are without a doubt some of the most fragile phones there are. Also most design flaws and pain in the ass to fix, since they are designed not to be.

The point is, the S5 was sold as a waterproof phone, and the S6 isn't even IP67... that's a huge step back.

Plus the whole glass all around and no edges makes it touchy as hell to use. Everyone I know who has one accidentally hits things all the time because it's impossible to hold without activating touch. Bleh

All I can say is I'm 4 years in and countless drops with no breakage.

Reminds me of that time I had the misfortune of replacing a hard drive in an older discrete Macbook Pro.

Definitely not designed with maintenance in mind, and honestly the interior quality wasn't very confidence inspiring. Components wrapped in anti static bags and tucked into empty spots, rather than like Dells I have worked on where everything had its own purpose made bracket that screwed into place.

Yeah, Apple has good marketing, I'll give them that... but their build quality is very lacking.

Pretty and simplistic is their design philosophy.,, and they charge a lot for their out of date hardware because of it.

And I'm not entirely anti-mac, as I do have an iMac at home... Granted it's mainly for compatibility testing and playing around with, as it's not that useful for real work. but it is a nice device, and I don't mind OSX... iOS on the other hand I loathe with a passion, and Apple as a company can oftentimes be pretty repugnant, so I limit my ventures into their eco-systems.

You're lucky...

The screens are tougher than they used to be all around (and ones made by Samsung like many iPhone screens are damn pretty) but it seems kinda random sometimes...

Know someone who just dropped their new iPhone 6 onto a rug over hardwood floor from a coffee table and it shattered.

Depends largely on what it hits, and how... and unibody and metal frames break more easily than plastic.

One of the reasons I still prefer plastic is it absorbs shock better, it's lighter, it grips easier, and it wears much better. Aluminum goes in your pocket a few times and comes out looking like shit...

I've thought about getting one so I can play around with iOS programming, but it's hard to justify when I could buy a better rig for less...we'll see. I may buy a Laptop and on that front, I'm pretty open to anything, so we'll see. I can always dual boot to Windows if I get a Mac.

I think it happens if it lands in a very specific way. I've had friends who have dropped them many times and nothing happens and then a drop not unlike the one you describe causes the glass to shatter (4/4s). I'm not sure how it is with the 5-6. For my 6 I use a case, because I figured I was more likely to drop it and I assumed there was a good chance I'd sell it sooner rather than later (but so far that's not true).

I drop my iPhone from first one to 6 all the time from day to day usage, and none of them have screen shattered, but my Galaxy S6's camera glass broke from a mug height, and I wasn't the only one with this problem...

I don't think iPhone is as weak as you think it might be, but definitely not as durable as plastic.
