Hello,

I have a laptop (listed below) that I would like to swap the screen in. The one that came with the computer has a 1366px resolution and I would like to swap a 1920x1080p screen in.

Maybe could purchase a screen from one of these laptops?

Has any one tried this, have any ideas?

UNless you can find someone saying they are compatible, I would not try it.

You could always do a google search with your laptop model and see if anyone has successfully upgraded screens.

Ya I can't find anyone who has done this but someone has to be the first!
I found this info below. Perhaps the 1920x1080 would work.
DV6 Screens

UPDATE:
This could possibly work.

What you might be able to do is read the manual and see if it mentions additional part numbers for other screen sizes in the screen replacement section. Otherwise it'll probably be a crap shoot in terms of whether or not it'll be completely compatible and/or fit.

I would say go for it and see what happens, just make sure you read the return policy.

Most of the screen sites very specifically say you need to order the same resolution.

However its more than likely just to cover there ass.

Haha ya probably. I have been doing some research and will order parts later in the week. Will make a short write up here and let everyone know how it went.

Research into the data ribbon that connects the panel to motherboard as well.
The pin count may be the same (40pin connector), but the pins used for each resolution may be different.
