Looks like a nice monitor. Has Freesync.

If this goes on sale in an hour or two then I am buying one. Thoughts?

For the record... I am still happy with my old 28" 1080p I-inc monitor (Hannspree) from about four years ago. I also have a 1440p Korean IPS from Crossover and I honestly enjoy gaming on my older I-inc more.

I can only assume this newer 34" widescreen will blow them both away.

displays why a lot of IPS panels are bad for movies ( obviously thats a daytime image but you can still see it )

No, not really. Contrast differences are less obvious in well-lit rooms, particularly sun-lit ones. That image doesn't really tell you much, and issues with black depth could be attributed to camera settings and the matte coating reflecting light.

@OP: The UM67's PPI is nothing short of abysmal, and you may dislike it coming from a 27" 1440p display. Also, what Crossover do you have specifically? Is it glossy? The UM67's matte coating could also be a huge turn off. The color presets and pixel response are also pretty disappointing.

I have the older 25" and 34" LG's and they look excellent,

My brother has the 34" 2560x1080 screen but I haven't seen it in person but I have seen my dads 27" 1080P which has about the same PPI as the 34" 2560x1080 and I don't care for the really large pixels.
My 25 and 34 have the same PPI so the icons and text are the same size on both.

I will say this, games that support 21:9 look great, you have a nice wide cinematic view of the game.

Batman supports it, but the cut scenes, which are sometimes 16:9 or 21:9, are stretched in in both aspect ratios.

The gaming looks great on that monitor for sure.. I'm in love with the monitor, would it be worth buying the monitor even if I dont run an AMD card..
