Any games kinda like GTA but more kid friendly for PS3?

My girls (ages 9 & 10) have been playing Midnight Club on the PS3 and they're having a pretty good time, but they want to be able to "get out of the car and walk" as well. I don't want to get them any of the GTA titles for obvious reasons, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar game without the adult content for the PS3. Thanks.

Sign me up for this too. My girl has been playing Watchdogs and Witcher with the sound off just so she can run around in an open world and have horses or cars to ride or drive in. She thinks Disney Infinity sucks, and it isn't really open world anyway.

I always thought the Driver series was more tame than GTA. maybe try those out? 1 and 2 were ps1, 3 was ps2, and san francisco is ps3.

Unless you have a backwards compatible ps3, you could play at least 1, 2 and sf. 3 was the only one with guns.

I can't think of any for PS3.

On the Wii-U they have Lego City:Undercover which is basically Grand Theft Lego, which would be almost perfect for what you are describing.

One of the Destroy All Humans games may be on the PS3, those are open world style games where you are a little Alien and kill the humans.
here is a video of Path of the Furon, which I think is the 3rd game in the series,

it's one of my favorite games,

The Simpsons Hit and Run came out for PS2. It would run on a backwards compatible PS3. Rated T.

Is it the violent gameplay you're against, or just the sexual/profane content? Just cause 2 is pretty tame as far as M games go, it just has some shooting. As for more kid friendly ones, only I can think of are Lego City Undercover and Simpsons H&R

You can't actually get out of the cars and walk around in San Francisco. You fly around and "possess" drivers. But it's still a great game.

Ages 8&9, shouldn't they be three year veterans of cussing people out over COD by now? What kinda monster parent are you!?

:)

I joke of course.

Basically recommend all the lego games. They're not all fully open world, but a lot of them have a lot of exploration. Nephew loves them.

Lego Batman 2 or Lego Marvel Superheroes. Both have open worlds and vehicles. Can unlock Spider-man's motorcycle or Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet for example.

Check psn if they have beyond good and evil for ps2. Or if your ps3 is backward compatible.

This is not open world but close.

Thanks to all that replied. I think I'm going to go with one or both of the Lego games. Maybe there isn't as much driving as they're doing now, but it looks like they are both great games.

Lego City Undercover is GTA-like, and was surprisingly fun the few hours I played it with my niece... but of course is WiiU only

My daughters like to play The Wheelman. It's kinda cheesy, but it's actually quite a bit of fun. I still play it once in a while. They pulled it from Steam (presumably for compatibility reasons,) but I believe it came out on all the major consoles at the time which would have included the PS3. It's probably cheap as dirt now. You're supposed to be undercover, and a good guy, so it doesn't let you run over pedestrians, the language is pretty mild, you steal plenty of cars, there's lots to do, etc. IIRC it didn't review all that well, but it's still a blast if you don't take it too seriously. My kids' friends all like to play it when they come over too. They basically tried to model Barcelona, so you're in a Spanish city-scape, with a decent variety of cars, car-types, missions if you even want to play them. I typically just grab a car, and go crazy (which is also what I do when I play GTA...) The graphics are still fairly decent even now. Not mindblowing, but good. The voice acting is good, Vin Diesel is well, Vin Diesel. :D You can do a lot of crazy over-the-top stunts, like car-jacking by jumping out of your car into another one while moving, you get points for doing stunts, you can flip your car around, ram other cars, etc. etc. The bikes are pretty fun too.

Well, the PS3 version isn't quite as cheap as I thought it would be, but with the amount my kids play it, I'd say it's almost worth it still. I'd pay the $38 for it... But that's me.

Cheaper on ebay, but who knows what condition: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...Xwheelman+ps3.TRS0&_nkw=wheelman+ps3&_sacat=0
