Well bought a brand new in box r6250 for half retail price but router turned out to be flaky but didn't show signs until weeks later when the deal was already done. Seller didn't have a receipt and netgear won't do anything about it without one. So now I am looking again. Has to have a USB with built in file sharing features. Prefer a ac router but will look at a n. No netgear routers. Price is key since this one hurt the wallet. Not looking for anything high end.

If you get the Linksys pm me. I have a set of booster antennas I will sell for shipping and $2.50

I just found out an excellent router. I placed an order already. Check out Xiaomi Mi wifi router. There is a version for $30($33 on ebay US sellers), and they have $160 version with a lot better specs and built in 1TB HDD. downside is: Setup is in chinese, but there are some ste-by-step guides.

It has USB ports that support natively external HDDs, AC wifi, can be used as bridge. Best part is, it seems like it has the great range according to reviews, and you can get additional range extender for $14 (geekbuying or gearbest).

I know you said no Netgear, but I do have a WNDR3700v2 rocking DD-WRT (2 actually) that I'd part ways with for $30.

ill check it out thanks

THe more I read about it, the more I like the Xiaomi Mi wifi router.

YOu can download OpenWRT.

Only con is Ethernet ports are 100meg, there is no 1gig port. But for $34 I spent, I cant complain.

What Asus router are you coming from?

What went wrong on the original R6250? Just curious since I installed a few. Aside from maybe needing a reboot once a month they were fine. I replaced my personal R6250 with a much more powerful router though.

ASUS RT-N65R - It is not bad other than no 802.11ac -

OP, I will be actually selling my ASUS RT-N65R, once I got my router delivered :)

Ha same one I have now. Keep waiting for a good deal on a rt-ac68u or r for the.increased range. I too will be slling mine OP but Turk's will be avilable first.
