Pretty much what the title says. I have a samsung android phonne. I cant think of the name right now. It was givin to me by a relative. Came in a prepaid Boost mobile kit thingy. I havent activated it yet because I have a sprint account Im paying for but no phone to use on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doing so would require you to unlock the phone. AFAIK, only GSM phones can be unlocked, so no.

Not only that, you'd also have to download the radio channels that goes with Sprint that Sprint will not give you.

But most Boost Mobile phone equivalents in Sprint are either free or really cheap,

OK, lots of misinformation here, so I'll give you the answer:

There's nothing to unlock, there's no radio channels to change. If it's a CDMA boost phone, it's already using Sprint's towers, because Sprint owns Boost.

HOWEVER, it doesn't even matter, because Sprint will only activate a Sprint phone. So yeah, won't happen.

It all depends on the Phones. Boost phones are just re-branded Sprint phones. For years i used Sprint phones on Boost but you want to do the opposite. Just try to activate it. If they ask you what kind of phone just don't mention Boost branding (if it has it) and stick with it being a Sprint phone.

From what i understand Boost just uses Sprint's ESN database. The tech can usually see that the phone is using Sprint or Boost branding, but a lot of the time if you just ask a customer service rep to do the ESN swap and they pay it no mind.

Now for swapping online, what would it hurt to just try?

The rep on the phone, or the online page, will tell you how to program the phone and the 6 didgit code required.

I know this is an old thread but has anyone successfully transfered a Boost Mobile phone to Sprint yet. I'm sure that since it's 2015, Sprint should have the tech to take them in.

its not about tech, Sprint has always had the tech to take them in they don't want to that's the point. Who knows what the butt heads up top are thinking but for some reason sprint seems to try to limit the best phones to sprint, and limit the worst phones to their MVNOs and not allow them on sprint. This is an active decision to stop it coming from the top down.

On a case by case basis people claim you can pull it off with some phones. I bought a moto G in the summer and remember seeing a long bunch of steps to get it onto sprint from boost.

Sprint recently changed some stuff around with phones and their mvnos, freedompop used to only have select phones you could use but sprint changed stuff and now you can use a lot more phones. I activated a virgin mobile kyocera event on freedompop which I wasn't able to do before. I would give them a call and see if they will activate the boost phone on sprint. A lot of this has to do with the new rules that require phone unlocking.

I'm looking at freedompop's website and it seems to be that they are prepay carrier, correct me if I'm wrong since hadn't slept yet and it's 4AM. If so, how will they help convert a Boost Mobile phone over to Sprint? Sprint kept giving me the runaround, saying they were getting errors when I called them to try to activate my phone. Sprint owns Boost Mobile, so outside looking in, them transferring the phone shouldn't be a problem from a practicability standpoint.

If you could find those instructions that would be helpful. I would really like to know how.

I meant call sprint not freedompop. I just used freedompop as an example of sprint changing their network.

O ok I see. I tried calling Sprint already but they were giving me the runaround a/b how it was giving them errors when I tried to convert it over.
