Spotify coming to PS3/PS4

I think the more important news here is that they are branding it as a Playstation service while also renaming most everything.

Similar to what MS did with Xbox Video, Xbox Music, etc.

Also the PS video service had some interesting tidbits in the PR. Basically their reaction to MSs cable TV integration except you won't need cable.
 
When I first read the title I thought this was just going to be an app, but since you can use it in-game it makes much more sense. I really hope games eventually allow integration with Spotify or similar services (like the radio in GTA)

I think this is critical to it being such a hyped feature now. I love to listen to my own soundtracks while gaming. Especially a game I'm replying for achievements.
 
I think this is fantastic. I've been having to plug my phone to my Mixamp for a long time since I love listening to music while playing. I wonder if there will be any limitations while listening however, like not being able to control volume or anything along those lines.

If chat party could all listen at the same time it'd be amazing but might be asking too much.

You could be right, but considering they all require to have Spotify and an account, it would be the same as having the free account if I'm not mistaken.

You can be absolutely sure Sony's lawyers , Spotify's lawyers , Record Label lawyers and the RIAA's lawyers have already thought up every possible way anyone on a PS3/PS4 could possibly end up listening to music in nearly any circumstance.

The RIAA is absolutely a nightmare to deal with concerning licensing deals.
