Study: Smarter People Use iPhones

I'm not sure what the rest of you dumb bastards use but confident, intelligent, and attractive people use iPhones. Oh yeah, this study also insinuates that Iowa, New Mexico and Delaware are full of dumb people too. :rolleyes:

A new study conducted by online advertising network Chitika found that states with more college graduates tend to also have higher iPhone sales. Alaska (66%), Montana and Vermont have the largest percentage of iPhone users. New Mexico (41%), Iowa and Delaware have the lowest share of iPhone sales per capita.

How does this study know that it isn't all the dumb people in these states buying iPhones? I mean, just because these states have more college grads doesn't mean THEY are the ones buying the iPhones.
 
You know, I always get a ton of looks from my colleagues (I'm in IT) when I bring out my iPad or iPhone; and I get a lot of flak for it. For all of the "iPhone users are sheep", IT people are f'ing annoying about their androids. I just want a phone with a good camera that I don't have to worry about rooting and installing a custom rom.

Android has come a LONG way in the last year or two and I can easily see myself going to a pure android phone my next go around but please, android IT people, quit harping on iphone users. It's just an f'ing phone. It does not define anyone.

It reminds me of my middle school days when your classmates judged you solely on the brand of sneakers you wore.

And to be on topic, this "study" is a ridiculous waste of time.

I've said it once, I'll say it again. Android users are the new iPhone users of 2007/2008.

Well i'd say that Macs and iPhones are popular among people who have jobs that pay a lot of money.

Hey you know what would correlate more closely? Tracking college grads and seeing if they buy iphones.

You can't extrapolate shit from this data set.

I don't remember iPhone users caring what other people used.

Android fans care deeply in what other people use.

Fact: just because someone has a college degree doesn't mean they're smart.

It takes 0 intelligence to get a liberal arts degree. Engineering majors could get those things in our spare time and collect them like baseball cards.
 
Only the truly dumb believe this study. Like JD Powers and the like you can pay to have a study say anything you want.

Funny story, I have a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Ancient History and Classics. Why? The University I attended allowed it and I needed a break from the Comp-Sci classes. It was fun too, it was nice to have a break from the work to just listen to a prof talk once a week and turn in a paper each semester. I'm not saying all arts degrees are pointless wastes of time that a chimp could achieve, I'm just saying that some of them are.
 
I have a hard time trusting the "data" from the increasingly agenda-driven studies of our age. What happened to the scientific method? Objectivity? Nope, let's use "science" to support our ridiculous preconceived notions and/or myths.
 
California is #11? LOL. This state has one of the worst public school systems in the country. Hell, look at the dipshits they voted to represent them.

This "study" only makes sense if "smart" means complete and utter dumbass.
 
I have an iphone because it works great for what I use it for.
 
I'm disappointed that we only have one page worth of comments. I had expected that we should be on page 10 now with about 75% of the comments full of butthurt android users making snarky comments.:p

Learning isn't all for employment. Sounds like the minor was more of an interest and something you personally enjoy and wanted to know more about and less of a career goal. That shows more smarts than a lot of other things...

The study was done in a shitty way.

Newsflash - if you assume something about someone simply because of their phone, you're an asshole.

Side note - only assholes care about the kind of phone someone else is using.
