Looking for some 970 upgrade myself, any model you would recommend (here, we don't have BestBuy and its small supply of Nvidia-manufactured 970 with reference cooler, OCUK cards with reference cooler have bad reviews, and EVGA is looking at manufacturing 970s with reference cooler) ?

I am looking at several cards on one MB, air-cooled (naked), and think active coolers are not so good for this kind of setup against reference blowers ?
