Samsung and FreeSync

Looks like Monitor + GPU upgrade in the next year for me. :D

It's amazing that people keep getting Freesync and Adaptive-sync confused...

How are DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync and Project FreeSync different?
DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync is an ingredient DisplayPort feature that enables real-time adjustment of monitor refresh rates required by technologies like Project FreeSync. Project FreeSync is a unique AMD hardware/software solution that utilizes DisplayPort Adaptive-Sync protocols to enable user-facing benefits: smooth, tearing-free and low-latency gameplay and video. Users are encouraged to read this interview to learn more.
Freesync is the way in which AMD will implement variable refresh rate in their hardware (GPU) and software (drivers), while Adaptive-sync is the DisplayPort standard that enables variable refresh rate in displays.

Samsung, if you're out there and can hear me, 1440p-144Hz-FreeSync Please!!! I really don't want to have to go nVidia! A 1440p FreeSync version of the S27A750D is all I want for Xmas!

According to Anandtech, expected release is March 2015, so I guess review will be a while still.

I'm hoping that with Samsung and the strongly rumored LG, that we'll see some other makers onboard and hopefully trying to get to market sooner...

I was planning on getting a new monitor from Black Friday deals, but after reading this article and a few others I decided to wait for these FreeSync monitors to hit the market. Hopefully they'll be significantly cheaper than G-Sync monitors.

Figures it would be Samsung - a lot of their previous monitors dont work with Nvidia technologies like 3D Vision and you had to hack in tridef support that just didn't work well at all.
