Attention Minecraft players, your world is being invaded by PETA.

True to PETA’s mission—and unlike on other Minecraft servers—no animals, not even digital ones, can be harmed on our dedicated Minecraft server! Visitors to PETA’s custom-made digital island will explore vast expanses of landscapes where the animals of Minecraft roam free. They can also visit extensive vegetable and flower gardens, walk through a fantastic re-creation of PETA’s HQ, and discover an abandoned and decaying slaughterhouse.

That's the best thing I have ever seen from PETA. It's constructive and demonstrates their stance without being a pain in the ass for careless meat eaters like me.

An organization that has conducted itself in such a ridiculous way as PeTA has...I don't think this will end well.

I might not like PETA, and they make 0 sense, and though they are a little behind the times with this, I think it's a cute, creative and harmless way to get people into your message. Props.

That said, I hope they have an admin that knows what he's going, and are using solid plugins, or that realm is going to get raped nice a quick.

On a side note, does anyone know what texture pack they are using in those promo videos?

There are SO MANY PEOPLE that are going to troll the HELL OUT OF THIS.

So, when will people discover PETA's kill vans, dumpsters of full trash bags, and rooms meant to hold animals without cages?

I do like the slaughter house tho, betcha they the creepers in there. :)

Inside the abandoned slaughter house is where all your dreams come true.

Why cant you eat animals in the PETA world? Doesn't it stand for People Eating Tasty Animals?

Hypothetical situation: a PETA member is cornered by a bear that wandered into their backyard looking for a snack in their trash cans. Do they call animal control knowing that a potential response will be to shoot the bear or do they just invite it in for tea?

That's pretty neat looking. I've never tried Minecraft, but I might have to so I can see this.

I still eat meat though sometimes, not often though. I think my only thing with it is that it's really inefficient from like an energy use perspective to farm cattle and other animals in large numbers since they take a lot of land area to get whatever calories back out and stuff like lunch meat is linked to cancer nowadays.

PETA seems a little more moderated and stuff though. I heard that years ago they were sort of crazy so maybe the organization is growing up?

I don't know how minecraft works, but that designs is actually pretty well done. Do animals kill other animals in minecraft?

Yup! Something I finally can get behind as I actually want to try this out.

So with the recent news that researchers discovered that plants "know" and react when they are being eaten, how long until PETA expands into PETAP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and Plants) and suggests people only eat Soylent Green?

Stupid hippies.

And I'm sure the wild animals are friendly and let you pet or take pictures with them just like the real world.

Peta holds the belief that healthy, adoptable animals are better off killed over taken in to a loving home.

Fuck Peta.

PETA kills more animals than any other organization, period.
This isn't even a debate.

If you looked up "Evil Organization" in a dictionary, the example picture would be PETA.

On a related subject, I'm annoyed that we have so sanitized the production of meat in this country. It's to the point where they can't even show primitive tribes slaughtering animals for food on tv. You can however show a lion biting the neck of a baby zebra.

How do people think all the supermarket isles full of packaged meat come to existence? There is nothing yucky or gross about killing an animal for food. It's part of nature, it's part of our life, and it's part of the roles we play in the food chain. Maybe if people saw more of the process, and maybe even took part in it to some degree, maybe then we wouldn't discard so much uneaten food. Waste is the real enemy.

Mandatory disclosure: My family (very ethically) raises grass fed cattle for beef. Shop local!!

Isn't a business an organization? I guess he was talking about on-profit?

So I guess those burgers everyone eats are from self-sacrificing cows?

I'm going to guess you've NEVER been around a cow for more than a few minutes in a petting zoo.

I grew up on a farm that raised all types of meat; cows, goats, chickens, pigs, turkeys, etc.

Cows are the dumbest animal on the face of the planet, they have no soul, and were put on this planet to be tended by us for our nourishment.

When you look into the eyes of a cow, it is looking straight through you, there is no intelligence there... geez all you hippies get so wrapped up in your own horse manure you can't even think straight.

Considering their goal it total animal liberation, the bear is free to eat the fuck out of the PETA member.

Again, I'll never be a PETA defender. However, there is a debate to be had unless you're running some kind of hatchet campaign. There are facts and ramblings on both sides of the fence, so yes, there are debates and they are good.

I want a Minecraft pork chop with a side of bacon now.
