looking to pick up a new mini itx mobo and was trying to decide between a h87 or z87 chipset. H87 does everything i need to do because im not overclocking but the Z87 says it has extra power savings for ssds. Does it save that much power? Or is it not worth it over the H series if i am not overclocking? My guses is that a h87 will be fine

z87 vs h87 - worth it for extra "power savings"?

Not worth it for z87 in that case. Likely the z87 will have extra features which consume more total power than any feature saves on an SSD (which doesn't use much anyway.)
As long as the H87 has the ports and slots you need... should be good.
