Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread...

I have been searching for hours, but cant find something that fits my needs.

I am looking for a wireless camera (preferably waterproof, but if not thats ok), that runs on 12v, so i can hardwire it in my truck. The biggest part of this though, is that i need to be able to record the streaming video directly on my ipad/iphone (NO INTERNET REQUIRED).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

Thanks for the replies guys. So the very specific application is as follows:

I am using this for my repo truck. I current have an iPad mounted on the center console for maps, acct info, etc. When I pull up to tow a vehicle I would like to start recording the repossession so that I have video documentation of it. The most important thing is that it be as easy as possible. I was hoping to find a camera that connects via Bluetooth or wifi directly to the iPad so I can switch to that app as I'm pulling up and click record. Having the ability to add multiple cameras would be awesome too, as well as being able to have a camera I can hardwire in the truck for power and mount either inside or outside.

Maybe we just haven't reached that far in technology yet, or maybe this is just too specific of an application. But I was hoping that some combined brain power would be better than countless hours of googling.

Not exactly what you want but the GoPro's can transfer video wirelessly (you should probably have a look at Garmin Vibe too) and given the nature of wifi I doubt you'll find anything that records wirelessly reliably.

Can you just mount the iPad and use its camera?

Is getting an SD card reader for the iPad not an option? Just record to the card with a GoPro, then pull out the card and transfer it to your iPad?

Are you looking to watch live on the iPad, or just use its storage and view later?

In instances like this, a specific use case can be helpful for those of us willing to help you.

Best bet is dedicated dashcams.

They can record for a very long time depending on how you have them configured and how big of flash card you get. At the end of the shift offload the video onto a PC for archiving.

I doubt you will find a camera that fits your original request.

Not sure if you found a solution but there are a lot of cameras on the market that record locally, for this purpose. Get one of them dash cams and you are all set.
