I just uninstalled dota 2.

I'm decent at Dota2,. I'd say I'm a good player, but far from pro. About 25% of the time I am carrying the team. 50% good team member who supports, and 25% suck arse just can't catch a break.

I play human team vs. bots now. On medium difficulty, I clean house. On hard I can lose a game depending on the other players. Point being, for some reason, all the stress is taken away when playing against bots yet all the fun remains, at least for me.

My 2 cents.

So its almost been a month since I uninstalled dota 2, haven't gamed at all and I'm not really missing it. Its pretty nice to have more time on my hands to actually go out side and more time with people.

^^ Good for you for recognizing something that was negative and removing it from your life.

I've played DOTA 6-7 years ago, then HON, before I sold my gaming setup to focus on school. Definitely experienced similar things as you before, being extremely negative and hostile. Now though when I get a chance to play, somehow it's much less so. It can be approached in a healthy way, but DOTA is one of the harder games to do it in heh.

I also uninstalled Dota 2 recently. I started playing Dota with the WC3 mod many years ago, but I can't stand it anymore because of the matchmaking system.

I was just above 3000 MMR which in Europe is full of Russians being Russian, people reporting me for using microphone, and just trolls in general. Getting out of that tier is nearly impossible, no matter how good someone is.

Trying to play on EU West is also a nightmare. Maybe 20% of people speak a language I can understand (English, French or Spanish). The other 80% are Russian, Romanian, Ukraine, etc. Why they are on EU west I do not know, but they are incredibly infuriating with intentional trolling and feeding. Valve needs to create a digital Iron Curtain.

I've lost countless number of mechanical keyboards and gaming mice to DotA, HON, and DotA 2 (omg the rage). I haven't played in like 6 months which my current keyboard and mice thank me for.

I don't think it's just a thing with LoL and DOTA, it's a majority of gaming communities and the internet as a whole. There was always trouble makers and annoying pests but everything has become so dumbed down and everyone has become so desensitized that they don't even think or care for their actions; there are no consequences. You can bet your arse that 90%+ of the people causing the grief now wouldn't do anything if the internet was not as "anonymous" as it is.

World of Trolls

I realized that I didn't have a thick enough skin/gluttony for punishment for the toxicity of WoW, so I never picked up DOTA, but I can understand where you're coming from. Eventually, you hit a point where it's not worth it to game with people you can't punch in the arm for being an ass.

I recently got back into CS:GO after a ~4 year break since Source. I have found the community so far to be outstanding. There are many voice active players on every server I have been on and if someone does start to flame or troll there are immediate warnings to chill or be kicked, and one has been kicked that I saw after only 2 hours of playing. It's actually funny to listen to them and chat with them, even after dominating them a few rounds in a row. It has actually been a bit of a shock because I'm so used to Dota.

Cs:go is tricky because its made up of two communities. The players from CSS which is a mixed bag of casual folks and kids who migrated from cod, then the competitive crowd from cs 1.6. So its 50\50 you'll meet the sweetest folks or trolley teens being useless and irritating. That said csgo is brilliant for being frustrating as fuck with rules and timeout policies. While it sucks to have your PC crash and get banned for the night its worth it to keeps trolls and idiots at the reasonable level.

Dota 2s main issue is there isnt a home persay for casuals and goofballs there's no belted off area saying "hey fair warning here there be dragons". Valve needs to work on tightening rules and creating a dota format for those of us seeking a friendlier environment like they did with csgo and tf2

I can`t imagine much more frustrating gameplay experience than having to rely on random teammates on a game where teamwork is highly beneficial.

It's now been almost 3 months. Still haven't touched Dota, only game I have played during this whole time was 1 hour of Halo with a friend on his birthday. I definitely am getting more sleep now as I actually do stuff at a reasonable time instead of putting it off.

That was totally my issue with Dota 2 as well..... game consumed me. and the games last so long, I would absolutely LOSE my shit on people too.

sometimes I get the same flashes of anger in LOL its hard to put it away when I am losing. I do my best to play in moderation, but seeing your post makes me realize my flaws. A month off is a good idea.

I don't think it's that simple. I've met old 1.6 players on CS:GO who are total dicks, and like to throw around their experience with the game while not being able to cooperate for crap.
