Nokia Lumia 520 GoPhone - $39.99 FS at Amazon

Any idea if this phone is unlocked to be brought to other pre-paid carriers?

At that price, worth it just as a dedicated music player or navigation device / workout tracker.

I had a Nokia 521 for a while that I used without a SIM, just for music and GPS / navigation.

Happy 521 owner here, if you need a backup phone or just want to play with Windows Phone OS, get this, its surprisingly useful!

How much internal storage does it have? Does it have a removable storage slot?

It won't be unlocked but you can use it on Straight Talk if you get one of their SIM cards. That's what I'm doing for my son. And a note to anyone wanting to use the wifi tethering...it won't work. I read where other people were talking about how easy it was to tether with a Windows phone only to get it and find out it won't work.

8GB I believe , but even if you picked one up as just a backup its not bad as an option.

Yes but you will need to change GPS settings to offline and then download the maps you want via Nokia Suite and then transfer to the phone. It will then use internal GPS. If you don't download offline maps you will be moving on a screen of gray :p

Works fine, att just restricts which data plans you can tether on.

I've always hated that the tmobile equivalents cost upwards of twice att version.

It's ridiculous.

For this particular phone, the t-mobile equivalent is $10 more at the Microsoft Store.

Might still pull the trigger, use it for music only, as it appears to have a micro sd card slot?

I wish.

Unlock a prepaid or GoPhone device

In addition to the general eligibility requirements, your device must have been active on your AT&T account for at least 6 months.

No entirely true, called AT&T support, told them I would be traveling out of the country (canada) and would need an unlock code for Rodgers sim card, they provided w./o question.. this was just after 2 weeks with the phone (1020)

ok, so if I'm an ATT customer (before even Cingular), I can just put the sim card in one of these and it should work? I used to be able to do this years ago but I thought it had ceased for whatever reason.
