Crucial MX100 512GB - $204.99 ($10 off promo code @ newegg)

Prices are insanely good.
Makes me wonder if something epic is coming soon.

I'm going to hold till Black Friday/Cyber Monday, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 512 drive hit $99

That is the only thing holding me back on something like this. I have a 2tb in my server that takes a few seconds to spin up and I really don't want to disable the feature because I don't want it spinning when I don't need it. This drive would have all that stuff that is accessed the most my wife uses. But I wouldn't feel really burned unless the 1tb model goes to $200. That would suck.

Yeah I got mine at that price at launch. It's a really good drive and I'll probably pick up a second one around blackfriday/cyber monday.

Wouldn't you better off with a Samsung EVO 500GB for $229.99 from NE with the promo code EMCPCWE23 ($30.00) from $259.99?

The raw read/write performance of both drives is almost identical (540 MB/s / 520MB/s in the Samsung vs. 550 MB/s / 500 MB/s in the MX100). The MX100 also uses MLC NAND while the Samsung uses TLC (perhaps a slight edge to the MX100 in terms of longevity and reliability).

Keep in mind though, this is only applicable with the 512GB version of the MX100. The 256GB MX100 (and 128GB version to an even greater extent) have significantly reduced write performance while the 120GB and 240GB Samsung drives still retain most of their write speed.
