Wasn't really sure where to ask this but I trust the advice of the people on this forum so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Wife and I just rescued a doggy from the shelter yesterday and he has severe separation anxiety so we'd like to keep an eye on him while we're at work just to make sure he isn't hurting himself or anything while we're away. Can anyone recommend an easy to setup security/surveillance camera with a cell phone app so we can keep tabs on the little guy? Thanks!

with most ip cameras, you don't really need a third-party application. port forward from the router to the camera. load the camera url on your phone's browser. if you don't have a static IP address, use dynamic DNS.

Also, Panasonic offers a free proxy address. Logitech has a web portal and a mobile viewer app.

Thanks for that Dropcam link mmettin, I'll keep that in mind when I get moved into my home later this year :).
