I have an old 8600GT that has 2 DVI outputs, but my monitor only has a VGA input. Would I be able to use the VGA output on my motherboard and have my 8600GT be the main GPU for all my games and such?

Basically I want my 8600GT to do the GPU work for games and such and used the motherboard VGA to output it.

PS I don't have a DVI-VGA adapter

8600gt is wayyy too old unless you want to play minesweeper....

Just get a new card and you wont have to worry about both

Time to update I think, the new gen 4 CPUs are great. And you can setup cheap pcs with better performance easy.

From the benchmarks I've seen, the faster Intel i3 are faster than the Intel Core2Duo E8500 and AMD Phenom X4 965 which were the speedy processors years ago.

On the other hand, I can't see the point of going dual-core and 4GB when it's very close to being outdated already. So buying a quad-core and 8GB will still cost more. (The i5-4670 or 4690 will be about twice as fast as the E8500 and Phenom 965 though. To me that might be a worthwhile upgrade.)
