Hi all,

just a quick question around choosing the right video card for the job.

the setup is:

Room 1 - 4k capable projector. via HDMI 1.4

Room 2- 1080p TV via HDMI.

I am looking for a graphics card that can output both of these signals at the same time as a 'side by side' screen setup. (win 8.1)

Do you actually have 4k content?

Just split the hdmi IMO, you realize they probably won't be in synch right?

I have very little 4k content, but want to futureproof.

I want to be able to send 4k to the projector and 1080 to another tv on a seperate hdmi using landscape desktop setup.

what do you mean not in sync ?
what do you mean split the hdmi ?

So you basically want 2 HDMI outputs, is that correct?

Buy any new-ish video card that supports a HDMI + DP connection. Buy DP->HDMI Adapter. Done.

Cool. I was just worried about the card being able to play movies on the 4k and 1080p second screen at the same time. Would that be a demanding task for a 750ti ?

just make sure that the first HDMI supports HDMI 1.4 @ 4k

there isnt any DP->HDMI 1.4 adapters, or DVI-DL->HDMI 1.4 AFAIK (no demand for those)..... so if you get a HDMI 1.4+DP card, won't be futureproof if you get a second 4k screen (just saying)

Doesn't the HDMI 1.4 limit you to only 30HZ for 4K content? I would say use the most recent DP connection for the 4K and save the HDMI for your 1080p content. Or wait for the HDMI 2.0 cards that should be coming out soon.

Different processing times, hard to sync 1080p, 4k is worse.

Sony has like 150ms lag.

Well that brings about another problem. . I could use the display port for the 4k screen and pc audio out to the amp but it would cause issues trying to send 1080p and audio over the hdmi port, having audio out via onboard sound and hdmi can be done in the windows settings but apparently causes audio lag on the hdmi out... sounds like a perfect solution of 4k and 1080p out at the same time is difficult to achieve.

This is easy.

Displayport to projector

HDMI split to 1080p TV and your receiver.

So, dp to projector sends video.
HDMI split to receiver and tv, will this cloned hdmi video out send audio when I'm watching something on the projector ?
