Once in a while I run into someone giving this info, but then I lose track of what thread it was.

I've got a Titanium HD and some Senn 598s that I use for music and gaming. I just usually turn off CMSS for music and turn it on for games. What should my speakers in the Windows control panel be set for, stereo or 5.1? I thought I saw people say to set the speakers to 5.1 and go from there. I keep having problems with my audio drivers for the past year, where I get that ctxfihlp crashing at startup and I have to reinstall the drivers to get it to work again, and then it'll for for another month or two until I have to repeat the process and re-do my settings.

Assuming your using headphones? Been a while since I've had to mess with it be warned

In the Creative software...it should be headphones. Make sure it does NOT sync with windows. Make sure CMSS 3D is selected.

Put the Windows speaker configuration to 5.1

In the games you play, chose 5.1 in the menu.

Pretty much it.

ok, yeah, that's what I was wondering about, if the windows config should be 5.1. Thanks.

that makes no sense to me...would you not set it to headphones:eek: but what do i know
